After their stunning victory in the Notts FA Senior Cup last weekend, Bingham Town return to action in the Premier Division of the Samba Nottinghamshire Senior League, supported by Euro Soccer Company by welcoming last season’s Division One winners, Woodthorpe Park Rangers, to Butt Field.
Southwell City also won in the cup in midweek, they turn their attention back to the league with the visit of Keyworth United to the Memorial Ground. That win was against Burton Joyce, who are currently unbeaten in the Premier Division, they will look to continue that record as they host Awsworth Villa at the Poplars. AFC Dunkirk entertain Magdala Amateurs at the Ron Steel Sports Ground while seventh visit eighth as Calverton Miners Welfare head to Hickings Lane to play Stapleford Town. Sandiacre Town welcome Cotgrave to St Giles with Wollaton hosting bottom club Eastwood CFC Development at the WSA. Bilborough Town entertain Aslockton & Orston at the Harvey Hadden Stadium and Attenborough and FC Cavaliers meet at the Forest Spots Zone. Ravenshead will try for the second weekend to get their Notts FA Senior Trophy tie against Ruddington Village played at Cornwater. The Reds will be without veterans Chris Bovey and Paul Smith. In another all-NSL match up in the same competition Robin Hood Colts host Beeston at Sherwood Fields. In Division One, leaders AFC Top Valley head to the Nottingham Football Centre, Rushcliffe, to face a Radcliffe Olympic side that are rapidly ascending the table. It’s second versus third as West Bridgford AFC travel to the CDW Arena to take on Radford Reserves. In Division Two, United Grays will be looking to consolidate the top spot they claimed last week as they travel to Basil Russell Park to play Pythian. Keyworth United Reserves and Ruddington Village Reserves have their own designs on first place. They host Burton Joyce Reserves at Platt Lane and Ravenshead Reds at Elms Park respectively. Bingham Town, leaders of the Samba Nottinghamshire Senior League, supported by Euro Soccer Company, are into the third round of the Notts FA Senior Cup after seeing off Clipstone, from a higher league, 2-1. Euan Sweeting put Town ahead before Clipstone equalised but a spectacular long range Jake Hardy effort secured the win. Calverton Miners Welfare couldn’t emulate the feat, unfortunately, as they went down 7-0 to Teversal.
In the Premier Division, Southwell City moved up to second with a 3-0 win over Magdala Amateurs thanks to first half goals from Bradley Peace-McDonald, George Caudwell and Ben Selby. Woodthorpe Park Rangers are making strides towards the top three after beating Eastwood CFC Development 8-0. The defeat leaves Eastwood bottom as FC Cavaliers picked up a point in a 2-2 draw with Sandiacre Town. In a pulsating encounter at Platt Lane, Keyworth United eventually prevailed 5-4 over Stapleford Town. United were ahead after only three minutes when Luke Guadagni deflected a cross into his own net. Junior Rodriguez drew Town level soon after but Callum Wolloch restored the home side’s advantage midway through the first half. An Adam Hassell double, the second from the penalty spot just before the break, then put The Saxons ahead however United equalised near the hour mark thanks to Scott Litchfield. Rodriguez’s second of the match put Stapleford back in the ascendency but Kasey Fisher and Litchfield’s second meant it was Keyworth that took the points. In the Notts FA Senior Trophy West Bridgford AFC gained revenge for a league defeat at Hucknall Town Development earlier in the month with a 3-1 win. Keyworth United Reserves caused an upset by seeing off higher ranked Radford Reserves 7-4. Cotgrave Reserves were somewhat unfortunate to go out on penalties to FC Sez after holding them to a 0-0 scoreline after 120 minutes. In Division One, Kimberley Miners Welfare Reserves lifted themselves off the foot of the table with a 5-1 win over Kirton Brickworks that included braces for both Ethan Lamb and James Oluwatosin. In Division Two, United Grays have moved into top spot after a Josh Wilson double helped them on their way to a 4-1 win over Beeston Old Boys Association. Omojiseoluwa Bankole scored two for AFC Dunkirk Reserves in their 4-2 win at Pythian while Bingham Town Reserves came away from Bilborough Town Community with a 3-1 victory. Clifton All Whites Development edged past Burton Joyce Reserves 4-3 and Barrowby saw off Elston United 4-1. There are several clubs from the Samba Nottinghamshire Senior League, supported by Euro Soccer Company, in Notts FA cup action this weekend. In the Senior Cup two NSL sides will be challenging themselves against East Midlands Counties League opposition as Bingham Town host Clipstone at Butt Field and Calverton Miners Welfare entertain Teversal at Hollinwood Lane.

A Cole Hinchcliffe brace helped Ravenshead on their way to knocking out Wollaton Reserves 4-0. Mark Yates and Lewis Parkin were also on target. Cotgrave Reserves, of Division Two, caused an upset by dispatching Division One side Kimberley Miners Welfare Reserves 4-3. A long range Chris Jackson strike put Cotgrave one up then the lead was doubled when David Cyrek headed home from a corner. Kimberley got themselves back on level terms thanks to Ewan Hill and Ethan Lamb but it wasn’t for long, as Cyrek got his second soon after before going on to complete his hat-trick. Ben Upton pulled one back in the 90th minute but Cotgrave held on to make it into the next round. There was no such upset for Burton Joyce Reserves, however, as the higher ranked Radford Reserves won 2-1. Obinna Abuka and Joel Bayliss did the damage for Radford with Alfie Harper replying for BJ. Asha were big winners in the Derbyshire FA Junior Cup, 10-1 against South Normanton United, including six goals for Jay Cooper, three for Daniel Evans and one for Joshua Andrews. In Division Two, Brandon Lee bagged a brace for Barrowby in their 6-1 win over Ravenshead Reds, who finished the game with only nine men. Tyler Haynes, Luke Abel, John Revell and Makhale Mahlasti also scored for Barrowby; Luke Williams with the Reds’ consolation. United Grays beat Bingham Town Reserves 3-1 with goals from David Gray, Tyrone Gray and John Manders. In the Samba Nottinghamshire Senior League, supported by Euro Soccer Company, Premier Division leaders Bingham Town had their 12 game winning run in all competitions ended by Wollaton following a 1-1 draw. A Tom Spencer free kick put Town ahead but Steve Ahern equalised late on.

George Harrison, McKenna Parton and Luis Parkes completed the scoring. Burton Joyce won the battle between the two promoted sides as a late Ryan Marsh header from a Ricky Gardner free kick saw them edge past Woodthorpe Park Rangers 1-0. Lucus Cotterill has now scored 11 goals in five appearances for Cotgrave since stepping up from their reserves as he struck four in his side's 5-2 win at Calverton Miners Welfare. Gethyn Tustin also notched; Andrew Smith and Alistair West replied for Calvo. Awsworth Villa were the day's biggest winners as they saw off Magdala Amateurs 10-0. Ben Branston (3), Ryan Krause (2), Kyllion Rickets, Greg Ellis, Liam Towle, James Duffy and Danny Towle were all on target. Only one Division One match survived the weather as West Bridgford AFC missed the chance to move level on points with AFC Top Valley at the head of the table when they went down 3-2 to Hucknall Town Development. In Division One, Kallum Greaves, Cole Hinchcliffe and Mark Yates gave Ravenshead a 3-0 win at Bridgford United while Kirton Brickworks came away from Robin Hood Colts with a 4-0 win thanks to Richard Willatt (2), Luke Boddy and Liam Knott. In the Nottinghamshire FA Senior Trophy, West Bridgford AFC knocked out fellow NSL side AFC Top Valley 6-3 with Marcus Browne contributing four goals to the cause. In another all-NSL tie Ruddington Village knocked out United Grays 3-1. Hucknall Town Development saw off AFC Bull Farm 2-0 but Stapleford Town Reserves went out 4-0 to Retford United Reserves.
