In the Precision Nottinghamshire Senior League Premier Division leaders Bilborough Town returned to winning ways as they defeated Aston United 3-2. Lyam Webster put Town ahead before Jak Kenworthy got Aston on level terms. Ricky Law put the hosts back in front just before the break and Liam Stewart extended the lead in the second half. Law then missed a penalty for Bilborough which led to a nervy end to the game for them as Liam Slater pulled one back for United in the closing stages. Second placed Awsworth Villa tasted defeat for the first time this season. Michael Jepps scored early on for Bingham Town and his side held on for the 1-0 win. Wollaton went ahead just before half time away at Magdala Amateurs as a Budgies defender headed past his own goalkeeper. The hosts struck back in the second half, however, through Chris Hayes and Rowan Cooper, to win 2-1. Joseph Branston saw red for Wollaton. Luke Room netted for Sandiacre Town, Corbi Brown for Clifton All Whites as they went in at the break all square. Niall O’Rafferty secured the points for Clifton with a second half strike. Newark Flowserve went 2-0 up in the first quarter of an hour at home to AFC Dunkirk but the visitors hit back through Tim Berridge (2) and George Harrison to lead 3-2 at half time. Harrison added his second after the restart but Newark scored two of their own to make it 4-4 in the end. Callum Barnes (2), Elliott King and Tom Potts were the Newark scorers. Jourdan Blair scored for the eighth game on the trot for Real United but it wasn’t enough as they went down 3-1 at Ruddington Village. Adam McMullen put the hosts ahead early before Blair’s header levelled matters just before half time. Late goals from Tristan Rhodes and Michael Leslie sealed the three points for Village. Cotgrave extended their unbeaten league run to five games with a 3-1 win at Attenborough. Lee Potts (2) and Jordan Cumberland were on target for Cotgrave, Seb Archer-Fern for Boro. Jacob Wright scored both of Nottingham Trent University’s goals in their 2-2 draw with Undrwood Villa. Callum Thompson scored for Villa, alongside an own goal. In Division One, despite playing for over an hour with 10 men leaders Calverton Miners Welfare came away from Keyworth United Reserves with a 6-3 win. Lewis Wheelhouse (2), Darren Williamson (2), Ryan Easom and Sam Buckle netted for Calverton, Craig Warren, Jack Posnett and Thomas Randall for Keyworth. Tom Tyler and Oliver Clarke scored two apiece in Southwell City Reserves’ 5-1 win at Clifton All Whites Reserves. Blair Bryant got City’s fifth, Bradley McDermott with Clifton’s consolation. Gedling Southbank came from 4-1 down and a man down in the first half to draw 4-4 with Wollaton Reserves. Ant Fragola (2), Mike Harding and Aaron Russell were the Wollaton scorers, James Needham, Luke Pickard, Ben Soar and Patrick Bakone for Gedling. Aidan Johnsey was the man to receive his marching orders. Kirton Birickworks edged out AFC Bridgford 1-0 after Jas Sidhu put through his own net. Sam Dunstan bagged a brace for Ruddington Village Reserves in their 4-1 win at Netherfield Albion. Oscar Bates and Dominic Pearce also notched, Ryan Fowler got Albion’s consolation. Gary Harris and Jack Sanders gave Birchover Park a 2-0 win over Greenwood Meadows AFC. There were hat-tricks for John Greaves and Roland Tomlinson for Bilborough United as they defeated AFC Clifton 6-3. Connor Boulton (2) and Martin Elvidge were on target for Clifton. In Division Two, the last remaining 100% record in the whole league was brought to an end as a Tyler Lambert hat-trick helped Ravenshead defeat the previously invincible Team DNF 3-1. There were also hat-tricks for Damien James and Ronnie Wood as Selston Reserves overcame Bilsthorpe Reserves 8-1. Radcliffe Olympic Reserves won 4-3 at Greyhounders and Mansfield Hosiery Mills edged past Bingham Town Reserves 3-2. James Fletcher put the students ahead after 14 minutes but midway through the first half Rico Tomusange pulled the visitors level. 10 minutes later Rackeem Reid was hauled down in the box, he then stepped up to fire home the resulting spot kick himself to give NTU a 2-1 lead going into the break. Joshua Ashison brought Basford back on level terms a quarter of an hour into the second half before, with five minutes remaining, Joshua Barr-Rostron put the hosts ahead yet again, only for Malcolm Podier to ensure a share of the spoils as time ran out. Jake Fisher grabbed a hat-trick for Wollaton in their 6-1 win at Underwood Villa. Sam Rothwell, Liam Towle and Callum Barratt were also on target, Ash Foster got Villa’s consolation. Adam Cooke, Michael Leslie and Fraser Cannon-Brownlie were on the scoresheet for Ruddington. Cotgrave saw off Unity 2-0 thanks to Andrew McClean and Jordan Hopkinson. Despite having a two goal lead twice in the game Magdala Amateurs could only manage a 3-3 draw in the end away at Bingham Town. Gareth Bentley put The Budgies two to the good before Michael Jepps pulled one back for Town. Bentley then rounded off his hat-trick to restore the two goal advantage before Jepps once again narrowed the lead. With time running out Tom Spencer struck for the hosts to deny Magdala the victory. Attenborough and FC Cavaliers drew 1-1. Ben Agbakosi put Cavs ahead in the first half but they were pegged back by Liam McCormack after the break. In Division One, despite twice being ahead Wollaton Reserves lost 3-2 to Southwell City Reserves as the visitors scored with the last kick of the match. The win saw Southwell leapfrog their opponents into second in the table behind Calverton Miners Welfare, who weren’t in action. Niall Rodney (2) and Matthew Johnson were the City scorers; Andrew Gill and Aaron Russell for Wollaton. Scott Kirk gave AFC Bridgford a 1-0 win at Gedling Southbank. Ed Jackson, Graham Beavis and Paul Revuelta were all on target for Ashland Rovers in their 3-0 win over Greenwood Meadows AFC. Ruddington Village Reserves won by a similar scoreline against Birchover Park with goals from Kaiden Burke-Campbell, Dominic Pearce and Ross Cochrane-Smith. Awsworth Villa Reserves bounced back from a heavy midweek defeat to beat Clifton All Whites Reserves 2-1. George Cooper and Ben Watson netted for Villa; Nick Kennerdale for Clifton. Wes O’Rourke grabbed a hat-trick for Kirton Brickworks as they saw off Netherfield Albion 6-0. Jamie Charlton (2) and Scott Ricketts also notched. Bilborough United played a quarter of their game at Keyworth United Reserves with only nine men but managed to come away with a 1-1 draw. Jonny Crawley scored for Keyworth, Roland Tomlinson for Bilborough. In Division Two, leaders Team DNF made it nine wins out of nine as they defeated Selston Reserves 3-0. DNF also had a penalty saved and Selston were reduced to 10 men on the stroke of full time. Ravenshead are up to second after a 3-1 win at home to Mansfield Hosiery Mills. Basford United Community went down 4-1 at home to Bilsthorpe Reserves. Aslockton Cranmers got back to winning ways – 6-3 against Radcliffe Olympic Reserves - following their first defeat of the season the previous weekend and Greyhounders double their win tally as they overcame Bingham Town Reserves 3-1. In the Precision Nottinghamshire Senior League Premier Division Real United, who have scored 11 and only conceded two in their last two matches, hope to have Josh Watts, Alex Ford, Ryan Farrall and Jack Upton back for the visit of Aston United to the Inspire Stadium, having all missed the 5-1 win at Unity.
Attenborough will be without Danny Prance due to work commitments when they welcome FC Cavaliers to The Strand but welcome back Tom Spawton and Seb Archer-Fern to the squad that saw off a spirited Magdala Amateurs team last week. Danny Beldham is also in contention for Boro, provided that he recovers in time from a persistent injury. Cavs recorded their second win of the season in midweek. With the top two in the table not in action third-placed Basford United Community will attempt to make up ground as they travel to Clifton Campus to face Nottingham Trent University. Wollaton will look to extend their five game unbeaten run on the road at Bracken Park against Underwood Villa. After a postponement and cup games AFC Dunkirk’s first league match in November is at home at the Ron Steel Sports Ground versus Sandiacre Town. Newark Flowserve’s last two league games have been against the top two teams in the division. They won one and lost one and now entertain reigning champions Ruddington Village at Hawton Lane. Cotgrave beat league leaders Bilborough Town last time out, they welcome Unity, who haven’t won in the league since mid-September, to Woodview. After a bright start to the season Magdala Amateurs have been faltering of late. They travel to Butt Field to take on Bingham Town who recorded their third win of the season last week. In Division One, the top six are all in action against one another. Leaders Calverton Miners Welfare opened the gap at the top to eight points with a hard-fought win over Gedling Southbank last weekend. They add Steven Brett, Adam Limb and Jay Hodson to their squad as they entertain sixth-placed Kimberley Miners Welfare Reserves at Hollinwood Lane. Second-placed Wollaton Reserves were disappointed with a 3-0 reverse at AFC Bridgford last week. They will attempt to make amends as fourth-placed Southwell City Reserves visit the WSA. AFC Bridgford, in third, have a trip to Hollinwood Lane to face Gedling Southbank who are fifth. In Division Two, Team DNF will put their 100% record to the test away at Selston Reserves. Aslockton Cranmers, whose unbeaten run was ended by Team DNF last week, host Radcliffe Olympic Reserves at Bingham Leisure Centre. Mansfield Hosiery are back in league action for the first time since mid-October as they visit Cornwater to play Ravenshead. Dunkirk’s youth team had to beat Matlock Town, Ilkeston, Lincoln City and Alfreton Town just to reach the first round proper of the FA Youth Cup. They then added a Football League team to their list of scalps as they defeated Coventry City 3-2 in extra-time with 10 men to set up a tie with Mansfield Town in round two.
With a number of the players also featuring in men’s football for AFC Dunkirk, in the Premier Division of the Precision Nottinghamshire Senior League, joint managers Craig Clark and Dave Robinson are hoping they can draw on this experience when they travel to the One Call Stadium on Tuesday evening, 15 November, kick off 7.45pm. The second round is already further than Dunkirk have progressed in the competition before but they won’t be going to Mansfield to make up the numbers as they attempt to keep their record-breaking adventure going.
