It ended all square despite Burton Joyce taking a two goal lead in the first half. The Saxons struck back through Ryan Stark and Junior Rodriguez before the break and, following a quieter second period, it finished 2-2.
Bingham Town are up to second after their sixth win on the trot, this time 6-0 at Attenborough thanks to a Euan Sweeting hat-trick, a Tom Spencer brace and one from Ed Hodgson. AFC Dunkirk are third following a 3-2 win at Sandiacre Town on Friday night that included two goals for George Harrison, one of which was a 40 yard strike into the top corner that rather satisfyingly clipped post and bar on the way in. Luis Parkes was also on target for the Boatmen. Woodthorpe Park Rangers have slipped from second to fourth after their 100% record was broken in fine style by Southwell City who ran out 3-1 winners. Bradley Peace-McDonald put Southwell on course to victory in the first half with a brace. Rangers pulled one back before the interval but Ben Selby sealed the win late on. There were two goals apiece for Sam Buckle and Matt Corbett for Calverton Miners Welfare in their 5-2 win over Eastwood CFC Development while FC Cavaliers and Keyworth United played out a stalemate. Wollaton slipped to their fourth defeat in a row, 3-1 at Aslockton & Orston. Jack Robb on debut and Kieran Wall put The Cranmers two to the good before Joshua Stevenson pulled one back for Wollo. Sam Winch added the third for the home side. Two goals from Danny Morgan earned Awsworth Villa a point in a 2-2 draw at Magdala Amateurs. With the Nottinghamshire FA cups kicking off there were only two games in Division One. The new look Radcliffe Olympic picked up back-to-back wins as a Brett Soiza hat-trick helped them overcome Ravenshead 6-0 while Wollaton Reserves edged past Gedling Southbank 2-1. In the Notts FA Trophy Joe Gunn fired a hat-trick in AFC Top Valley’s 10-2 win over Ashland Rovers Development but it took penalties to separate the sides in the all-Division One encounter between West Bridgford AFC and Kirton Brickworks. Bridgford prevailed 4-2 after a goalless 120 minutes. In other all-NSL ties, Bright Agana struck a 14 minute hat-trick for Beeston in their 7-1 win over Pythian. Ruddington Village knocked out Elston United but their reserve side couldn’t replicate the feat, going down 3-1 to Kimberley Miners Welfare. Elsewhere Robin Hood Colts won 4-2 against Netherfield, United Grays came away from Quarrydale United with a 2-1 win, Keyworth United Reserves beat Trent Vineyard 5-2 and Ravenshead Reds knocked out Wollaton Thirds 4-2. Unfortunately Bridgford United went out to FC Sez, losing 5-0, and Selston Reserves saw off Bingham Town Reserves 4-1. In Division Two, Cotgrave Reserves consolidated first place with a 6-2 win at Burton Joyce Reserves, including a Kieron Burrows brace. Lee Dixon and Samuel Taylor were both on target twice for Asha in their 6-1 win at Bilborough Town Community. Beeston Old Boys Association got off the mark at the fifth time of asking with a 2-1 win over Stapleford Town Reserves and AFC Dunkirk Reserves won by a similar scoreline at Barrowby. AFC Dunkirk and Southwell City remain third and fourth respectively after they drew 1-1. Calum Law put City ahead only for Jay Knight to ensure the points were shared. Jake Hardy was on target four times for Bingham Town as they overcame Bilborough Town 7-0. Harley Cox, Tom Giles and Will Haycox were also on target. Adam Hassell also scored four as his Stapleford Town defeated Magdala Amateurs 6-1. Jack Upton also bagged a brace alongside an own goal with Dan Barton getting the consolation for The Budgies. After going unbeaten in their first four matches, Wollaton have now lost three on the spin, the latest a 3-2 reverse against Calverton Miners Welfare. Calvo’s goals were shared between Jason Hodson, Adam Limb and Dalton Stephens with Gareth Bentley and Kyle Crofts replying for Wollo. Jake Fisher took his goal tally to eight for the season with a hat-trick for Keyworth United in their 5-1 win at Eastwood CFC Development. Daniel Chadwick and Casey Fisher also netted for United; Zeb Kasujja for Eastwood. Awsworth Villa picked up their first points of the season and lifted themselves off the foot of the table with a 4-2 win at Attenborough. In Division One, West Bridgford AFC are top on goals scored, a Marcus Browne hat-trick in their 6-0 win at Basford United Community helping his side keep just ahead of AFC Top Valley who beat Bridgford United 4-1 to keep their 100% record alive. Radford Reserves, in third, were also 4-1 winners – at home against Hucknall Town Development, as were a new look Radcliffe Olympic against Robin Hood Colts including a brace for Jawanza Grant. It was Radcliffe’s first win since mid-February. Ruddington Village stay fourth following a 2-0 win against Kirton Brickworks while Gedling Southbank made it back-to-back wins by seeing off Kimberley Miners Welfare 4-2. Michael Lindsay scored four and Matt Lockley two for Pythian in their 9-4 win against Burton Joyce Reserves and Asha beat Beeston Old Boys Association 2-0. That means the sole remaining perfect record in the top flight belongs to Woodthorpe Park Rangers as a 4-2 scoreline against Magdala Amateurs gave them their fifth win of the season. Ellis Carter actually put Magdala ahead early in the encounter but Connor Scott-Parkin levelled matters before the break. The Budgies’ task got decidedly more difficult just after the restart though as Adam Kelvey was sent off. The introduction of Markell Bailey for Woodthorpe made all the difference, however, as he set up both Conor Carter and Jason Rimmel then, after Ben Johnson had pulled one back, added the fourth himself. AFC Dunkirk came from two down away at Stapleford Town on Friday night to draw 2-2 and preserve their unbeaten start. Ahead of them on goal difference having played a game more, however, are Cotgrave Reserves who won 4-2 at Barrowby. Jack Palmer netted twice for Keyworth United Reserves in their 6-1 win over Beeston Old Boys Association while Josh Wilson grabbed a hat-trick for United Grays in their 7-0 demolition of Ravenshead Reds. Ruddington Village Reserves beat AFC Dunkirk Reserves 3-2 while Bilborough Town Community and Burton Joyce Reserves both picked up their first point of the season in a 4-4 draw. On Saturday in the Premier Division, leaders Burton Joyce will be shooting for six wins from six as Aslockton & Orston visit the Poplars. Also looking to maintain their 100% record are Woodthorpe Park Rangers, who welcome Magdala Amateurs to Greenwich Avenue. Wollaton are also yet to be beaten, a run they will wish to continue as they head to the Memorial Ground to take on Southwell City while Awsworth Villa go in pursuit of their first point of the season as they host Bingham Town at the Shilo. Also looking to get off the mark are Bilborough Town as they travel to the Pro:Direct Arena to face Eastwood CFC Development. James Davis and Andrew Smith are amongst the additions to the Calverton Miners Welfare squad from their draw with Magdala last time out as they entertain Sandiacre Town at Hollinwood Lane. New signings Morgan Bell and Cameron Smith go straight into the Attenborough squad for their trip to the Forest Sports Zone to play FC Cavaliers. In Division One, Ravenshead travel north to face Kirton Brickworks with Jacob Woods back and in contention to start. Jamie Vaughan pushes for a first appearance of the season, the Reds could also give two debuts if they can complete a planned second new signing. Midweek results saw Radford Reserves move into top spot, they head to Eagle Valley to play the division’s only team with a 100% record, AFC Top Valley. Ruddington Village make the trip to Leyton Crescent to take on Beeston. Gedling Southbank were unfortunate not to take anything from their clash with Southwell City Reserves in midweek. They will be hoping for better fortune as they welcome Bridgford United to Eagle Valley. Basford United Community host the aforementioned Southwell at Greenwich Avenue and Wollaton Reserves entertain Hucknall Town Development at the WSA. It's first versus fourth in Division One in a local fixture between West Bridgford AFC and Ruddington Village at Regatta Way. WBAFC are looking to maintain their 100% record whilst Ruddington are keen on extending early season momentum from their own great start. With the pick of a full squad, West Bridgford manager Barry Matthews has some tough decisions amongst fierce competition for places. Talismanic striker Marcus Browne will be keen to add to his already impressive goal haul under the floodlights.
Elsewhere, Kimberley Miners Welfare welcome Wollaton Reserves to the Stag Ground and Southwell City Reserves entertain Gedling Southbank at the Memorial Ground. In Division Two, Keyworth United Reserves host Ruddington Village Reserves. Steven Brett grabbed a late equaliser as his Calverton Miners Welfare side drew 1-1 with Magdala Amateurs. A Tom Haw header had put The Budgies ahead. There’s a promoted team at the top of Division One too as AFC Top Valley continued their impressive start with a 6-0 win against Hucknall Town Development. There was a hat-trick for Kane Pearson, two goals for Joe Gunn and one for Jake Gunn although on the downside Luke Gregory was stretchered off. Sam McGrath scored a hat-trick for West Bridgford AFC who, like Top Valley, have a 100% record from four matches following a 7-3 win over Beeston. Lewis Heron (2), Marcus Browne and Luke McRedmond also netted for Bridgford; Elliot Pitt, Benjamin Knight and Jason Jude for Beeston. Radford Reserves are only two points behind the top two after they won 7-2 at Radcliffe Olympic, including a hat-trick for Tiyumtaba Harrung and a brace for Antony Edwards. Kirton Brickworks leapfrogged Kimberley Miners Welfare in the table thanks to beating them 2-1 while Basford United Community won by a similar scoreline at Ravenshead. Kyle Pemberton bagged a brace for Bridgford United but it was bettered by Fraser Cannon-Brownlie whose hat-trick helped Ruddington Village to a 4-2 win. Macauley Diuk also netted. Robin Hood Colts picked up their first win since promotion as they overcame Wollaton Reserves 5-1. Bingham Town Reserves are top of Division Two after they came back from 2-0 down to edge out Cotgrave Reserves 4-3, helped by Cotgrave’s Lewis Hopkinson receiving his marching orders with the score at 2-1. Substitute Josh Gardner scored twice for United Grays as they made it two wins from two with a 5-2 victory over Pythian.
