West Bridgford have an eight point lead with just three games to play in the Premier Division following their 2-2 draw at Real United on Saturday. Bridgford twice came from behind and claimed a share of the spoils with a Jurgen Charlesworth penalty. Jamie Kirkby had got the visitors back on level terms earlier; Jamie Spiers and Tim Hopkinson were the Real scorers. Ruddington Village, in second, weren’t in action but will remain hopeful of chasing down the leaders as they have seven games in hand. Another team in the hunt are Wollaton, who moved into third with a 4-0 home win over Cotgrave. Scott Litchfield scored his second hat-trick in as many games for the hosts, Phil Bignall added the fourth. Wollaton are three points behind Ruddington having played the same number of games. Awsworth Villa’s title challenge is fading after they drew 2-2 at AFC Dunkirk, however they still have the NSL Senior Cup Final to look forward to having won their semi-final the previous Tuesday. Matt Goodwin and Ryan Whitehurst were the Villa scorers, Oliver Clark and Kamran Frost for Dunkirk. Unity left it late to snatch a point with a 1-1 draw at Newark Flowserve. Callum Barnes put the hosts ahead only for Connor Croft to equalise with five minutes remaining. All the goals came in the second half as Attenborough saw off Burton Joyce 2-1. Jordan Smith and Ethan Winfield netted for Boro, Sam Buckle for BJ. After drawing a blank in their previous two matches FC Cavaliers found their goalscoring form with a 5-1 win over Beeston. Liam Taylor (2), Ionut Dunca (2) and Ako Abdullah did the damage for Cavs, Tony Murray with Beeston’s consolation. Underwood Villa kept some breathing space between themselves and the relegation places with a 2-1 win over Sandhurst. In Division One, South Normanton Town maintained their charge for the title with a 3-1 win at Cotgrave Miners Welfare. Shaun Smith (2) and Sam Chambers were on target for Town, Darren Williamson for Welfare. Magdala Amateurs moved back into second with a 6-1 victory at home to Clifton All Whites Reserves. Sean Balfe and Nathan Woolley were on target. Nottinghamshire aided their chances of avoiding relegation with a 2-1 win over Netherfield Albion. Watnall Athletic stayed only a point behind after they saw off Cotgrave Reserves 6-1. Keyworth United Reserves’ title chances were dented in a 5-1 reverse at Aspley Park Reserves while Awsworth Villa Reserves continued their promotion push with a 2-0 win at Bilborough United Reserves.
