Cotgrave FC are sad to announce that former Chairman and club stalwart Dave Collis passed away on Monday evening.
Dave joined the club as a committee member 2000/01 season when he was a valued member of the club, involved in fundraising, ground assistant and many other activities.
He became chairman of the club in 2006 until 2010. He was always available on match days, ensuring the pitch was in good order, nets up, pitch well marked, always gave a warm welcome to match officials, and opponents always liked to chat after the game in the welfare.
After standing down as chairman he continued working for the club and was always always available to help out in any situation.
Dave was a great fundraiser for the club helping with the lottery sales. He took on the role of lottery promoter in 2008, selling tickets every weekend until his passing on Monday evening.
Dave was popular and well liked by all within the club and will be greatly missed.
Our thoughts are with Dave’s family at this sad time.
In memory of Dave there will be a minute’s silence before all Samba Nottinghamshire Senior League fixtures this coming weekend.
