Bingham Town, leaders of the Samba Nottinghamshire Senior League, supported by Euro Soccer Company, are into the third round of the Notts FA Senior Cup after seeing off Clipstone, from a higher league, 2-1. Euan Sweeting put Town ahead before Clipstone equalised but a spectacular long range Jake Hardy effort secured the win. Calverton Miners Welfare couldn’t emulate the feat, unfortunately, as they went down 7-0 to Teversal.
In the Premier Division, Southwell City moved up to second with a 3-0 win over Magdala Amateurs thanks to first half goals from Bradley Peace-McDonald, George Caudwell and Ben Selby. Woodthorpe Park Rangers are making strides towards the top three after beating Eastwood CFC Development 8-0. The defeat leaves Eastwood bottom as FC Cavaliers picked up a point in a 2-2 draw with Sandiacre Town. In a pulsating encounter at Platt Lane, Keyworth United eventually prevailed 5-4 over Stapleford Town. United were ahead after only three minutes when Luke Guadagni deflected a cross into his own net. Junior Rodriguez drew Town level soon after but Callum Wolloch restored the home side’s advantage midway through the first half. An Adam Hassell double, the second from the penalty spot just before the break, then put The Saxons ahead however United equalised near the hour mark thanks to Scott Litchfield. Rodriguez’s second of the match put Stapleford back in the ascendency but Kasey Fisher and Litchfield’s second meant it was Keyworth that took the points. In the Notts FA Senior Trophy West Bridgford AFC gained revenge for a league defeat at Hucknall Town Development earlier in the month with a 3-1 win. Keyworth United Reserves caused an upset by seeing off higher ranked Radford Reserves 7-4. Cotgrave Reserves were somewhat unfortunate to go out on penalties to FC Sez after holding them to a 0-0 scoreline after 120 minutes. In Division One, Kimberley Miners Welfare Reserves lifted themselves off the foot of the table with a 5-1 win over Kirton Brickworks that included braces for both Ethan Lamb and James Oluwatosin. In Division Two, United Grays have moved into top spot after a Josh Wilson double helped them on their way to a 4-1 win over Beeston Old Boys Association. Omojiseoluwa Bankole scored two for AFC Dunkirk Reserves in their 4-2 win at Pythian while Bingham Town Reserves came away from Bilborough Town Community with a 3-1 victory. Clifton All Whites Development edged past Burton Joyce Reserves 4-3 and Barrowby saw off Elston United 4-1. Comments are closed.
