Only two games survived the weather in the Premier Division of the Samba Nottinghamshire Senior League, supported by Euro Soccer Company. Magdala Amateurs doubled their win tally for the season as they came away from Eastwood CFC Development with a 2-0 victory thanks to Thomas Groves and Ethan Lespeare while Jake Fisher, Scott Lichfield and Jared Russell handed Keyworth United a 3-0 win over bottom club FC Cavaliers.
There were four all-NSL ties in the Nottinghamshire FA Senior Trophy. Kyle Nutt put Awsworth Villa ahead at home to Aslockton & Orston and, despite having Tommy Street sent off, captain Danny Roberts went on to seal a 2-0 win. A Cole Hinchcliffe brace helped Ravenshead on their way to knocking out Wollaton Reserves 4-0. Mark Yates and Lewis Parkin were also on target. Cotgrave Reserves, of Division Two, caused an upset by dispatching Division One side Kimberley Miners Welfare Reserves 4-3. A long range Chris Jackson strike put Cotgrave one up then the lead was doubled when David Cyrek headed home from a corner. Kimberley got themselves back on level terms thanks to Ewan Hill and Ethan Lamb but it wasn’t for long, as Cyrek got his second soon after before going on to complete his hat-trick. Ben Upton pulled one back in the 90th minute but Cotgrave held on to make it into the next round. There was no such upset for Burton Joyce Reserves, however, as the higher ranked Radford Reserves won 2-1. Obinna Abuka and Joel Bayliss did the damage for Radford with Alfie Harper replying for BJ. Asha were big winners in the Derbyshire FA Junior Cup, 10-1 against South Normanton United, including six goals for Jay Cooper, three for Daniel Evans and one for Joshua Andrews. In Division Two, Brandon Lee bagged a brace for Barrowby in their 6-1 win over Ravenshead Reds, who finished the game with only nine men. Tyler Haynes, Luke Abel, John Revell and Makhale Mahlasti also scored for Barrowby; Luke Williams with the Reds’ consolation. United Grays beat Bingham Town Reserves 3-1 with goals from David Gray, Tyrone Gray and John Manders. Comments are closed.
