The Precision NSL Senior Division has a new outright leader. Wollaton took advantage of West Bridgford’s match being postponed to move three points clear at the top following a 10-0 victory over bottom club Kirton Brickworks.
There were seven different scorers plus an own goal, for a Wollaton side that were missing seven first team regulars, with Brian Stark and Adam Campbell notching twice. With just six games of the season remaining Wollaton are now in pole position to win their first title since 2006. Cotgrave are back up to fourth after a 2-1 win away at Beeston. Ben Smedley stole the points for the visitors with an injury time winner, his second of the game. Jason Jude had cancelled out Smedley’s first strike in the opening period. Bilborough Town came from behind twice to draw 2-2 away at Burton Joyce. Ashley Moorcroft and Sam Buckle had twice put BJ ahead only for Liam Webster and Tariq Nadif to equalise. Town could have taken all three points but Craig McMorran missed an injury time penalty. Ruddington Village and Boots Athletic also shared the points in a 2-2 draw. Leigh Sissons and Phil Bignall were on target for Village, Alan Palmer got both goals for The Chemists. Awsworth Villa made it three wins out of four as they came from behind to record a 3-2 victory away at Sandhurst. Stef Frost and Adam Bradford helped the home side to go in at the break 2-1 to the good but two goals from Danny Towle and one from Matt Walker gave Villa the points. It was top versus bottom in Division One as Newark Flowserve entertained Awsworth Villa Reserves. Order was maintained as four goals from Mason Love helped Flowserve to a 6-0 win. Sam Betts and George Paling were also on target. Underwood Villa remain four points off first, with three games in hand, as they won 3-0 away at Nottinghamshire. Mack Smith, Sam Tring and Tim Berridge were the Villa scorers. It was 0-0 at half time between Linby Colliery Welfare Reserves and Magdala Amateurs then in two remarkable second half minutes Aaron Potter scored two goals for Linby, both hitting the net directly from corner kicks. Ross Cheeseman rounded off the scoring for Welfare to give them a 3-0 win. Ruddington Village Reserves won 3-2 away at Ashland Rovers. Mark Evans got both Rovers’ goals but they were cancelled out by a hat-trick from Sam Rothwell. A James Crawford strike was sufficient for Netherfield Albion to see off Southwell City Reserves. In Division Two, Kimberley Miners Welfare AFC closed the gap to Aspley Park at the top to six points, with three games in hand, following a 2-0 win over Bilborough United. Danny Walsh and Ben Greenhalgh were the Welfare scorers. FC Samba won by the odd goal in nine against Ashland Rovers Reserves. Bruce Walker was on the scoresheet twice for Samba, Julian Topliss twice for Rovers. Joe Brumpton scored a brace for Newark Town Reserves in his side’s 4-1 home victory over AFC Clifton.
