In the Samba Nottinghamshire Senior League, supported by Euro Soccer Company, the current Premier Division leaders, Burton Joyce, met the reigning champions, Stapleford Town. It ended all square despite Burton Joyce taking a two goal lead in the first half. The Saxons struck back through Ryan Stark and Junior Rodriguez before the break and, following a quieter second period, it finished 2-2.
Bingham Town are up to second after their sixth win on the trot, this time 6-0 at Attenborough thanks to a Euan Sweeting hat-trick, a Tom Spencer brace and one from Ed Hodgson. AFC Dunkirk are third following a 3-2 win at Sandiacre Town on Friday night that included two goals for George Harrison, one of which was a 40 yard strike into the top corner that rather satisfyingly clipped post and bar on the way in. Luis Parkes was also on target for the Boatmen. Woodthorpe Park Rangers have slipped from second to fourth after their 100% record was broken in fine style by Southwell City who ran out 3-1 winners. Bradley Peace-McDonald put Southwell on course to victory in the first half with a brace. Rangers pulled one back before the interval but Ben Selby sealed the win late on. There were two goals apiece for Sam Buckle and Matt Corbett for Calverton Miners Welfare in their 5-2 win over Eastwood CFC Development while FC Cavaliers and Keyworth United played out a stalemate. Wollaton slipped to their fourth defeat in a row, 3-1 at Aslockton & Orston. Jack Robb on debut and Kieran Wall put The Cranmers two to the good before Joshua Stevenson pulled one back for Wollo. Sam Winch added the third for the home side. Two goals from Danny Morgan earned Awsworth Villa a point in a 2-2 draw at Magdala Amateurs. With the Nottinghamshire FA cups kicking off there were only two games in Division One. The new look Radcliffe Olympic picked up back-to-back wins as a Brett Soiza hat-trick helped them overcome Ravenshead 6-0 while Wollaton Reserves edged past Gedling Southbank 2-1. In the Notts FA Trophy Joe Gunn fired a hat-trick in AFC Top Valley’s 10-2 win over Ashland Rovers Development but it took penalties to separate the sides in the all-Division One encounter between West Bridgford AFC and Kirton Brickworks. Bridgford prevailed 4-2 after a goalless 120 minutes. In other all-NSL ties, Bright Agana struck a 14 minute hat-trick for Beeston in their 7-1 win over Pythian. Ruddington Village knocked out Elston United but their reserve side couldn’t replicate the feat, going down 3-1 to Kimberley Miners Welfare. Elsewhere Robin Hood Colts won 4-2 against Netherfield, United Grays came away from Quarrydale United with a 2-1 win, Keyworth United Reserves beat Trent Vineyard 5-2 and Ravenshead Reds knocked out Wollaton Thirds 4-2. Unfortunately Bridgford United went out to FC Sez, losing 5-0, and Selston Reserves saw off Bingham Town Reserves 4-1. In Division Two, Cotgrave Reserves consolidated first place with a 6-2 win at Burton Joyce Reserves, including a Kieron Burrows brace. Lee Dixon and Samuel Taylor were both on target twice for Asha in their 6-1 win at Bilborough Town Community. Beeston Old Boys Association got off the mark at the fifth time of asking with a 2-1 win over Stapleford Town Reserves and AFC Dunkirk Reserves won by a similar scoreline at Barrowby.
