In the Nottinghamshire Senior League Premier Division, free scoring table toppers Newark Flowserve didn’t have things all their own way against Kimberley Miners Welfare AFC and had to rely on a solitary Elliot King goal in order to extend their record to 13 wins from 13.
Cotgrave made it four wins out of five with a hard fought 3-1 win at Attenborough. Gethyn Tustin (2) and Sam Adams netted for Cotgrave, Jason Jude for Boro, who also saw three players sent to the sin bin. Wollaton are unbeaten in five following a 2-0 victory over Underwood Villa. Jake Fisher set the ball rolling and Daniel Chadwick sealed the three points. Awsworth Villa inflicted FC Cavaliers’ first league defeat since mid-September and did so in fine stye, running out 7-0 winners despite playing the last 30 minutes with only ten men following Liam Smith’s sending off. Ryan Wheatley (2), Matthew Murphy (2), Matt Goodwin, Ben Watson and John Whitehurst were the scorers. Basford United Community saw off Bilborough Town 5-1 with a brace for both Ian Green and Gideon Boateng. Louis Tomlinson was also on target for Basford, Ellis Williamson with Town’s consolation. Bingham Town were 4-0 winners at Magdala Amateurs with goals from Tom Spencer (2), Mike Jepps and Callum Leach. Lorcan Hickey put AFC Dunkirk ahead against Gedling Southbank only for a Caine Wood double to put the visitors in the ascendency. Hickey got his and Dunkirk’s second from the penalty spot late on to ensure the spoils were shared. Oliver Clarke and Barry Payne heled Calverton Miners Welfare to a 2-1 win over Ruddington Village while Sandiacre Town and Southwell City played out a stalemate. In Division One, Tyler Lambert scored a hat-trick and Adam Martin two for Ravenshead in their 7-4 victory against Real Community. Benjamin Aspinall netted twice for Mansfield Hosiery Mills as they overcame Keyworth United Reserves 4-1. Stapleford Town won 2-0 at AFC Bridgford while Kirton Brickworks edged past Selston Reserves 3-2. Awsworth Villa Reserves defeated Ruddington Village Reserves 2-0 and it was honours even between Southwell City Reserves and Wollaton Reserves in a 2-2 draw. In Division Two, it’s not often you score a hat-trick yet are overshadowed by two of your teammates however that is what happened to Bridgford United’s Sheldon Tuitt in his side’s 13-1 demolition of Greyhounders as Nathan Francis grabbed five goals and Jarrod Westcarr four.
