In the Samba Nottinghamshire Senior League, supported by Euro Soccer Company, Premier Division leaders Stapleford Town recorded only their second draw of the season as they were held 1-1 by AFC Dunkirk. James Hunter put Stapleford ahead on 10 minutes but Kieran Diver levelled with a header only four minutes later and that’s how the score stayed.
None of the next three teams in the table, Bingham Town, Awsworth Villa and Southwell City were able to gain any ground, however, after they all drew their respective matches too. Bingham had to come from two down at home to Keyworth United to salvage a point. Cameron Gray and Macauley Tinsley had put the visitors ahead but Mike Jepps and Ed Hodgson restored parity. Awsworth drew 1-1 with Attenborough. Daniel Morgan netting for Villa; Ryan Whelan for Boro. Southwell City also drew 1-1, with Calverton Miners Welfare. Mathew Newton put Calvo ahead on a quarter of an hour but the lead lasted barely five minutes as Bradley Peace-McDonald steered home a Chris Bowles free kick. Two first half Edwin Towers goals saw Aslockton & Orston past Eastwood CFC Development 2-0. Sandiacre Town squandered a two goal lead, both from Daniel Clark, at home to Wollaton, but they had substitute Jack Warner to thank as he struck a late winner, making it 3-2. After initially taking the lead, Magdala Amateurs had to come from behind to rescue a point in a 2-2 draw with Radcliffe Olympic. Tom Haw grabbed both for The Budgies, Jordan Wright with a brace for Olympic. Bilborough Town moved a further place away from the bottom of the table, up to 15th, with a 3-2 win at Gedling Southbank on Friday night. Woodthorpe Park Rangers march on in Division One as they saw off Southwell City Reserves 5-0 with the goals shared between Markell Bailey, Dean Bussey, Darren Oldham, Kieran Wheat and Conor Carter. Second-placed Ravenshead continued their promotion push with a 7-1 win at Kimberley Miners Welfare Reserves, including two goals apiece for Brent Horton, Martin McDonagh and Paul Smith. They weren’t the division’s biggest winners, however, as Liam Honeyman struck four and Cole Oliver two in Bridgford United’s 8-0 demolition of Radford Reserves. Basford United Community and Burton Joyce remain level on points after the two sides drew 1-1. Joshua Dixon scored a hat-trick for AFC Bridgford in their 5-1 win at Wollaton Reserves. Beeston lost 4-3 for the second time in four days. After heartbreak in the NSL Senior Cup semi-final against Stapleford Town in midweek it was Bestwood Miners Welfare who inflicted defeat in the league. The new management team at Awsworth Villa Reserves were delighted to see their charges win 2-1 against Mansfield Hosiery Mills while Fraser Cannon Brownlie and Daniel Neary shared the goals for Ruddington Village in a 4-1 win over Kirton Brickworks. In Division Two, a Benjamin Cummings hat-trick helped leaders AFC Top Valley on their way to a 6-0 victory against Cotgrave Reserves. They remain four points ahead of Newark Flowserve Reserves, who won 5-2 at Barrowby, but have played three more games. George Camps hit five and there were hat-tricks for Jake Smith and Nick Westerman as Robin Hood Colts dispatched Sneinton Town 15-1 while Luke Denham grabbed an injury time winner for Clifton All Whites Development in an 11 goal thriller against Nottingham Community. Bingham Town Reserves came from behind in the last five minutes to beat AFC Clifton 2-1 and Ruddington Village Reserves saw off Ravenshead Reserves 3-1 on Friday night. Comments are closed.
