In the Nottinghamshire Senior League Premier Division, leaders Newark Flowserve will be looking to start the new year the way they ended the last as they entertain second-placed Awsworth Villa at Hawton Lane. Newark have an 18 point lead over their nearest rivals by virtue of having won all 17 of their league matches so far.
Third placed Southwell City host FC Cavaliers at the War Memorial Ground, hoping to get back to winning ways following their home reverse to Calverton Miners Welfare last time out. Calvo’s top scorer, Sam Buckle, returns to the squad that beat Southwell as they host Underwood Villa at Hollinwood Lane. Bottom club Attenborough have won on their last two outings, they will look to take that form into the match at The Strand with Wollaton who, by contrast, have lost their last two. Two other clubs enjoying contrasting fortunes at present are Bilborough Town and Bingham Town, who meet at Harvey Hadden Stadium. Bingham are unbeaten since mid-November whereas Bilborough last picked up all three points at the end of October. Cotgrave’s first game since mid-December sees them entertain Kimberley Miners Welfare AFC at Woodview. Sandiacre Town welcome Magdala Amateurs to St Giles and Gedling Southbank make the trip to Elms Park to face Ruddington Village. In Division One, leaders Netherfield Albion are back in action for the first time since mid-December as they host Mansfield Hosiery Mills at Hollinwood Lane. Mansfield will include up to four new signings in their squad. Ravenshead include new signing Dan Fisher and possibly one more new signing as they travel to Leyton Crescent to play Beeston Rylands. George Hadfield, Mark Smallwood, Simon Murray and Ash Martin are out for the Ravens however, but Tyler Lambert and Chris Bovey return to the side. In Division Two, second placed Bridgford United will attempt to take of advantage of leaders Woodthorpe Park Rangers being in Notts FA Junior Cup action away at AFC Top Valley, as they entertain bottom club Nottingham City at Lenton Lane. Bridgford will have both Kory Simms and Liam Moore in action again after they both featured last Saturday following a few weeks off through injury. Comments are closed.
