The weekend action in the Nottinghamshire Senior League Premier Division gets underway on Friday night as Southwell City look to make it three wins from three as they entertain Magdala Amateurs at the War Memorial Ground. Southwell edged past Cotgrave in midweek while Magdala came from behind to win at Calverton Miners Welfare.
Also on Friday, Bilborough Town go in search of their first points of the season as they welcome Bingham Town to the Harvey Hadden Stadium. On Saturday, league leaders Awsworth Villa want to make it five wins from five as AFC Dunkirk make the trip to The Shilo. Top scorer Jake Fisher will be aiming to take his tally into double figures for the season, having notched nine times so far. FC Cavaliers have made a bright start to the current campaign and sit second in the table. They head to Spa Lane to play Aslockton & Orston for whom a Julian Joachim hat-trick wasn’t enough to see them past Keyworth United in midweek, losing 5-3. Stapleford Town will finally kick off their season with Calverton Miners Welfare the visitors to Greenwich Avenue while Eastwood CFC Development welcome Gedling Southbank to the Play Soccer USA 3G Arena. There’s also a Friday night fixture in Division One with Basford United Community hosting Selston Reserves at Greenwich Avenue. On Saturday, all three promoted sides will be looking to continue their encouraging starts to the season. Woodthorpe Park Rangers are currently top of the pile after narrowly beating Burton Joyce in midweek. They entertain Awsworth Villa Reserves at Eagle Valley while BJ face off with Bridgford United at the Poplars. Bridgford come into the match on the back of an exhilarating 7-5 win over local rivals AFC Bridgford on Wednesday. In addition to Selston, there are three teams still looking to get off the mark: Beeston, who host Kimberley Miners Welfare Reserves at Chilwell Olympia; Southwell City Reserves, who welcome Ruddington Village to the War Memorial Ground; and Mansfield Hosiery Mills, who entertain Radford Reserves at The Fieldings. Netherfield Albion travel to Gresham Sports Park to take on AFC Bridgford while Bestwood Miners Welfare welcome Wollaton Reserves to the Sports Club. In selected fixtures from Division Two, Newark Flowserve Reserves 100% record will be put to the test as they travel to Roko to play Magdala Amateurs Reserves while Robin Hood Colts kick off their season with a trip to Eagle Valley to face Gedling Southbank Reserves.
