In the Nottinghamshire Senior League the weekend’s fixtures get underway on Friday night as Ravenshead welcome Kirton Brickworks to Cornwater in Division One. The hosts must contend with Ryan Faulconbridge's absence although Jamie Simons and Daniel Fisher are now fit. Chris Bovey returns to the Ravens’ squad and they also welcome Rob Houghton and Kallum Greaves back to the club.
On Saturday there’s a double header at Hawton Lane as Premier League leaders Newark Flowserve entertain Gedling Southbank at 3pm while their Reserves get underway at 2pm in Division Two against Nottingham City. Awsworth Villa, second in the Premier Division, host Calverton Miners Welfare at Eastwood’s PSUSA Arena. The visitors welcome Adam Limb, David Corder and George Scrivener back into the squad that managed a creditable draw with FC Cavaliers last time out. Cavs will be attempting to move ahead of Awsworth as they travel to Greenwich Avenue to face Basford United Community. Wollaton will be looking to do the league double over Cotgrave on the recovering pitch at the WSA and Bingham Town will hope to extend their eight game unbeaten run as they cross the city to play Sandiacre Town at St Giles. Attenborough have been on both the right and the wrong end of 4-3 scorelines in their last two matches whereas Southwell City won by the odd goal in five last time out. They meet at the War Memorial Ground. Only one point separates the bottom four sides. Two of them, in the form of Magdala Amateurs and Underwood Villa, meet at Roko, while Bilborough Town could be in danger of being dragged into the mix if they don’t get a positive result from their trip to Elms Park to play bottom club Ruddington Village. Kimberley Miners Welfare head to the Ron Steel Sports Ground to face AFC Dunkirk. In Division Two, Bridgford United meet Welbeck Lions Reserves in the league for the first time this season. United welcome back two key players, Bernard Kirk and Jarrod Westcarr, after their recent injury spells. New signings made just before the deadline, Reiss Neil and Brett Duffy, join the squad, both are very experienced and established players who will provide strength to the midfield.
