Action gets underway in the Nottinghamshire Senior League Premier Division on Friday evening as AFC Dunkirk host Ruddington Village at the Ron Steel Sports Ground and Gedling Southbank entertain Bingham Town at Hollinwood Lane.
On Saturday, with leaders Newark Flowserve not in action second placed Cotgrave will attempt to narrow the gap as they welcome Basford United Community to Woodview. After narrowly being edged out of the Notts FA Senior Cup in midweek Awsworth Villa will attempt to bounce back as they travel to the WSA to face Wollaton, who are vying to move up to second place. Southwell City could also be in second place come the end of the day if they overcome Magdala Amateurs at Roko. Calverton Miners Welfare will attempt to make it five games unbeaten as they head to St Giles to play Sandiacre Town. David Corder and Barry Payne are added to Calvo’s squad but George Scrivener and James Davis miss out. A number of clubs are in Nottinghamshire FA Cup action. In the Senior Cup Bilborough Town welcome last season’s NSL champions, now of the East Midlands Counties League, Clifton All Whites to the Harvey Hadden Stadium. In the Intermediate Cup, there are two all-NSL ties as Underwood Villa host FC Cavaliers at Bracken Park and Kimberley Miners Welfare AFC entertain Awsworth Villa Reserves, while Attenborough travel to Welbeck Lions Reserves. In Division One, an injury hit Ravenshead welcome Bilborough United to Cornwater. With eight players missing they are hoping that Ash Martin will travel back from university to play and are also looking to add a new face before the weekend.
