There was a seven-goal thriller at the top of the Precision Nottinghamshire Senior League Premier Division as Clifton All Whites eventually ran out 4-3 winners away at Ruddington Village.
The hosts took an early lead through Michael McGlaughlin before Neil Thompson and Ben Richardson hit back for the All Whites. McGlaughlin levelled things up after the break but Connor Hardy and Darrell Thomas took the game away from Ruddington again. Danny Cox added a third for the Villagers but it wasn’t enough. Real United are up to third after a convincing 5-1 victory over Attenborough. Tim Hopkinson scored all five for Real; Chris McGeown grabbed Boro’s consolation. Awsworth Villa continued their fine form – they’re now unbeaten in seven games – with a 2-0 away win at Wollaton. Ryan Whitehead got both the goals. Bilborough Town saw off FC Cavaliers 3-0 with all the goals coming in the space of 10 minutes, two for Jack Cooper and one for Jake Kane. South Normanton Town extended their lead in Division One to four points with a 5-1 win at Netherfield Albion. Shaun Smith bagged a hat-trick and Josh Thompson two for The Shiners, who also put through their own net. Nottinghamshire defeated second-placed Kimberley Miners Welfare Reserves 2-0 with second half goals from Tyrone Cairns and Simon Betts. Bilborough United beat Linby Colliery Welfare Reserves 3-1 through Rob Muncaster (2) and Tom O’Regan. Aaron Potter replied for Linby. Calverton Miners Welfare won 8-1 at Clifton All Whites Reserves. Jason Hodson grabbed four, Jamie Humphries (2), Dane Bennett and Tommy Thraves also netted. Mitch Hall put Kirton Brickworks two up at Southwell City Reserves in the first half but deflected efforts from Ieuen Plume and Andrew Walton, the second of which coming with only 30 seconds of the match remaining, meant City snatched a point. In Division Two, Bilsthorpe Reserves won 6-0 at bottom club Bilborough Town Reserves, Keyworth United Reserves beat Nottinghamshire Reserves 10-1 and Aspley Park Reserves were 2-0 victors over Watnall Athletic. A number of NSL sides were in Nottinghamshire FA Cup action. In an all-NSL tie in the Intermediate Cup Magdala Amateurs, from Division One, knocked out their higher division opponents, AFC Dunkirk, 4-1. Rich Whyman and Greg Whatnall bagged two apiece. Likewise Ruddington Village Reserves saw off Burton Joyce 4-2. Jurgen Charlesworth scored a hat-trick in West Bridgford’s 7-1 win at AS Plant United and Errol Campbell netted four times for Unity in their 9-0 win over Southwell City. Bingham Town won 2-1 at Ashland Athletic but Ashland Rovers went down 3-2 to Strelley Rose. In the Junior Cup, Connor Boulton scored all three of AFC Clifton’s goals in their 3-1 win at Skegby United. Underwood Villa Reserves beat Nottingham Community 2-1 and Awsworth Villa Reserves were 3-1 winners over Beeston Rylands.
