Ruddington Village maintained their unbeaten start to the Precision Nottinghamshire Senior League Premier Division season. They didn’t do it in straightforward fashion though as they fought back from two goals down to salvage a draw at local rivals Clifton All Whites.
Ben Clark put Clifton ahead within the first five minutes before Brett Peel doubled the lead 15 minutes later. Ruddington hit back either side of half time to claim a point. West Bridgford also remain unbeaten but they had to rely on a late Carl Westcarr goal to rescue a point at Bilborough Town. Bridgford went 2-0 up thanks to an Abou Sylla double before Bilborough debutant Ricky Law gave the hosts hope with a penalty at the end of the first half. Law went on to complete his hat-trick to put his side into the lead before Westcarr ensured the points were shared. Sandhurst managed to hold Real United at bay for half an hour but Real’s superior quality ultimately shone through as they won 8-0. Tim Hopkinson doubled his goal tally for the season by netting four times, Kuwesi Ofushine and substitute Glodie Bange got two apiece. FC Cavaliers got their first win of the season, at the fourth time of asking, after defeating Bingham Town 2-1. Im’main Samuels grabbed both of Cavs’ goals, Tom Spencer replied for Bingham. Ruddington Village Reserves kept their three point lead at the top of Division One by beating Netherfield Albion 9-1. Southwell City Reserves maintained their 100% home record with a 4-2 win over Bilborough United. Chase Marcham, Liam Wilkinson and William Wheat (2) were on target for Southwell; Joel Buxton and James Hunt for Bilborough. Magdala Amateurs have now won three on the trot after they dispatched Linby Colliery Welfare Reserves 5-0 with goals from Danny Bentley (2), Tom Haw (2) and Richard Whyman. Aspley Park returned to winning ways with a 6-2 defeat of Calverton Miners Welfare. Ryan Martin scored a hat-trick for Ashland Rovers, in addition to one from Mark Summers, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Clifton All Whites Reserves as they lost 6-4. Tim Berridge (2), Ross Cochrane-Smith, Glenn Kill and Lamah Griggs all notched for Clifton. Ashley Marshall, Matt Rick and Sam Tring helped Hucknall Rolls Leisure Reserves to 3-2 win at Nottinghamshire. Watnall Athletic leapt to the top of Division Two with an 8-0 win over Nottinghamshire Reserves. Joseph Brookes scored a hat-trick for the hosts. Kieran Wheat netted a hat-trick for Bulwell Reserves as they moved up to second with a 6-1 win at Awsworth Villa Reserves. Kimberley Miners Welfare AFC were also big winners – 7-1 at Bilborough Town Reserves. Jordan Sharpe scored four times. AFC Clifton won 4-0 at home to Selston Reserves. Stuart Grainger got both of Bilsthorpe Reserves’ goals in their 2-1 win over Aspley Park Reserves. Bingham Town Reserves went down 3-1 at home to Keyworth United Reserves. Comments are closed.
