In the Samba Nottinghamshire Senior League, supported by Euro Soccer Company, Southwell City took advantage of the team’s above them not being in action by moving back into the top four with a 2-0 win at Wollaton. Calum Law opened the scoring on 10 minutes with Liam Moran sealing the points just before the break.
Zibusiso Sibanda struck a hat-trick for FC Cavaliers as his side were convincing 6-0 winners at Attenborough. Raheim Goodall, Mustapha John and Kamar Davis were also on target. Aslockton & Orston made it three wins on the trot by seeing off Magdala Amateurs 4-0. Rob Larkin gave the visitors a half time lead and Ed Towers doubled the advantage on the hour mark. Larkin grabbed his second soon after then, not to be outdone by his teammate, Towers put the icing on the cake. Calverton Miners Welfare picked up a much needed win, their first since the end of January, by edging past Eastwood CFC Development 3-2. Captain Barry Payne headed Calvo in front midway through the first half with Ethan Hunter extending the lead with 20 minutes remaining. Kallum Greaves pulled one back for Eastwood from the spot but Mathew Newton briefly calmed the host’s nerves by restoring the two goal lead on 85 minutes. Danny Tring immediately replied to set up a tense finish but Calverton held on for all three points. Thomas Jeffries gave Gedling Southbank an early lead at home to Sandiacre Town but the visitors struck back through Jordan Leonardi, Perry McGrath and Jordan Smith. Tyler Cook reduced the arrears before getting sent off and Sandiacre held on for the 3-2 win. In Division One, Woodthorpe Park Rangers and Bridgford United renewed their rivalries from last season with the current leaders coming out on top 5-2. Second placed Ravenshead won by a similar scoreline against Ruddington Village with Brent Horton on target twice. Bestwood Miners Welfare and Mansfield Hosiery Mills drew 1-1 in the only other Division One match to survive the weather on Saturday but on Friday night Basford United Community saw off Beeston 6-2 with two goals apiece for Gregory Moulopoulos, Alex Goodall and Ewan Hill. In Division Two, AFC Top Valley have a slender lead in the table following a 1-1 draw with Bingham Town Reserves. Second-placed Newark Flowserve Reserves came from behind to beat Cotgrave Reserves 4-1, including a hat-trick for Leighton Nicholson, to move within one point of Top Valley. Ruddington Village Reserves edged out Stapleford Town Reserves 3-2 and Ashley James grabbed a hat-trick for Robin Hood Colts in their 8-1 win at Sneinton Town.
