Newly promoted Burton Joyce continue to set the pace in the Premier Division of the Samba Nottinghamshire Senior League, supported by Euro Soccer Company after they made it five wins from five by seeing off Attenborough 4-1. Sam Smith got the ball rolling for BJ, followed by Nathan Francis. Mark Faflik’s brace came either side of a Kieran Whalin consolation for Boro.
Also winning 4-1 to maintain their 100% record, albeit from one game fewer, were the other promoted side, Woodthorpe Park Rangers. Conor Carter grabbed a hat-trick alongside a Kieran Wheat strike; Samuel Brindley replied for their opponents, Sandiacre Town. Sandwiched between the two Premier Division new boys are AFC Dunkirk, who won 5-1 against Bilborough Town. Buba Ceesay’s consolation effort on debut was the one bright spot for the division’s bottom team. Wollaton edged past the reigning champions, Stapleford Town, 3-2. Steve Ahern, Roberto Labbate and Matt Eastwood put Wollaton three to the good. Ryan Stark and Junior Rodriguez struck back for Stapleford but it was too little, too late. Southwell City, featuring three pairs of brothers in their matchday squad, were 4-1 winners over Awsworth Villa thanks to Calum Law (2), Oliver Clarke and Ben Selby. Brent Horton netted for Villa. Bingham Town picked up their second win of the campaign with 9-1 demolition of Eastwood CFC Development. There were hat-tricks for Euan Sweeting and Jake Hardy with Harley Cox, Callum Leach and Cole Maule also getting in on the act. Magdala Amateurs came from behind twice to earn a point against Keyworth United in a 2-2 draw. It was the prolific Jake Fisher who had twice put United ahead only for Sam Livsey and Ellis Carter to score for The Budgies, who nearly nicked it at the end when, with only ten men thanks to the sin bin, Daniel Barton struck the post. In Division One, West Bridgford AFC moved into top spot as a Marcus Browne hat-trick set them on their way to a 5-1 win over Kimberley Miners Welfare Reserves. Radford Reserves are up to second as nine goals were shared amongst only four scorers in a 5-4 win at Bridgford United. Martin McDonagh (3) and Obinna Abuka (2) for Radford, two each for Liam Honeyman and and Kyle Pemberton for Bridgford. A Fraser Cannon-Brownlie brace helped Ruddington Village claim a 3-0 win at Hucknall Town Development while an Adam Kemp double saw Beeston to their first win of the season, 3-2 against Kirton Brickworks. Relegated Gedling Southbank added one to the win column for the first time since early April as they came away from Robin Hood Colts as 4-1 victors while Wollaton Reserves won 7-4 at Basford United Community. Cotgrave Reserves took top spot in Division Two in emphatic fashion as they saw off Ravenshead Reds 11-1, including four for David Cyrek and two for both Lucus Cotterill and Jack Sykes-Wood. Michael Lindsay scored a hat-trick for Pythian in their 4-1 win over Bilborough Town Community and Sam Dunstan was on target twice for Ruddington Village Reserves as they edged past Elston United 3-2. Stapleford Town made it three from three with a 1-0 win at Barrowby while Keyworth United Reserves won 5-0 against Bingham Town Reserves and AFC Dunkirk came away from Clifton All Whites Development with a 4-0 win.
