In the Precision Nottinghamshire Senior League Clifton All Whites got the three points they needed to secure the Premier Division title with 1-0 win at FC Cavaliers. The home side were resilient but just lacked a cutting edge up front. The only goal of the game was scored just after the break when Niall O’Rafferty was first to react to a shot that rebounded off the crossbar and he slotted home.
Awsworth Villa made sure of a second place finish as they won 3-0 at Ruddington Village thanks to Matt Goodwin, Matthew Murphy and Ryan Wheatley. AFC Dunkirk are up to third after they edged out Newark Flowserve 3-2 with all the goals coming in the first half. Jordan Crossmann put Dunkirk ahead inside five minutes but Jamie Charlton equalised immediately. Sam Harbottle restored the home side’s advantage on 17 minutes with William Skillington doubling the lead a quarter of an hour later. Joe Hurst reduced the arrears just before the interval but neither side could find the net again. Wollaton came from behind to defeat Bilborough Town 4-2 and leapfrog their opponents in the table is so doing. Jack Nicholson gave Town an early lead but, having set the league record for goals in a season with a hat-trick in his last outing, Wollaton’s Jake Fisher added a further three to take his tally to 57 in all competitions this term. Ryan Krause was also on target for the visitors; Tommy Street had earlier made it 2-2. Akim Akimbinu and Oisin O’Malley helped Nottingham Trent University pick up their fifth win in six games, 2-1 at Basford United Community. Ewan Sweeting was on target for Basford. Bingham Town finished their season with a 1-0 loss at home to Attenborough, Aiden Blewitt the scorer. Underwood Villa and Magdala Amateurs played out a 1-1 draw. Ashley Foster netted for Villa, Gareth Bentley for The Budgies. In Division One, Bilborough United picked up three points in their last ever game as they overcame AFC Bridgford 4-2. John Greaves (2), Roland Tomlinson and Robert Muncaster struck for United, Callum Lawson with a brace for Bridgford. Ryan Keeley scored twice for Kirton Brickworks in their 4-1 win at Awsworth Villa Reserves. Mitchell Hall and Scott Ricketts also notched, George Cooper replied for Villa. Comments are closed.
