Woodthorpe Park Rangers claim Division Two title... In the Nottinghamshire Senior League Premier Division it was a good day for the home teams as all seven were victorious. This included Awsworth Villa preventing runaway champions Newark Flowserve from recording their 30th win of the season. Villa went ahead when Soloman Miller put through his own net in the first half following a Matt Goodwin cross. The points were sealed after the break with a Kyle Crofts goal making it 2-0.
The win allowed Awsworth to close the gap to FC Cavaliers in second after they went down 1-0 at Cotgrave. Ben Castell with the only goal. A Mike Jepps brace saw Bingham Town past Underwood Villa 2-0 while Ruddington Village lifted themselves off the foot of the table with a 3-2 win against fifth placed Calverton Miners Welfare. Fraser Cannon-Brownlie, Daniel Johnson and Cayne Maxwell were all on target for Rudd, with Oliver Clarke and Jamie Humphries replying for Calvo. Basford United Community were resounding 10-0 winners against Wollaton. John Beraki struck a hat-trick and Gideon Boateng grabbed two goals alongside efforts from Anthony Bedward, Ezra Kitungano, Max Pashley and Betilson Paixao. Tom Haw netted twice for Magdala Amateurs as they overcame Sandiacre Town 3-1. Fionn Coffey was also on target, Tristan Comery with Town’s reply. Adam Hassell scored one in each half for Kimberley Miners Welfare AFC in their 2-0 win over AFC Dunkirk. In Division One, Stapleford Town took a big step towards securing the title with a 2-1 win over the one of the only two teams that can now catch them, Netherfield Albion. James Hunter struck the winner for Stapleford with a thunderbolt free kick into the top corner, his first goal of the season. Ashland Rovers maintained a mathematical chance of finishing top, albeit they would need to close a huge gap in goal difference, with a 5-0 win over Ruddington Village Reserves. Matthew Hubbard and Paul Revuelta grabbed two goals each alongside one for Lee Townsend. Kyle Clarkson scored four for Kirton Brickworks as they saw off Beeston Rylands 7-2 and Mansfield Hosiery Mills were 2-1 winners over Awsworth Villa Reserves. In Division Two, Woodthorpe Park Rangers are champions following a 3-2 win at Newark Flowserve Reserves. Although Nathan Francis scored a hat-trick for Bridgford United in their 4-1 win at Sneinton Town they can no longer catch Woodthorpe. Bingham Town Reserves were 3-1 winners over Burton Joyce and Welbeck Lions Reserves overcame Magdala Amateurs Reserves 4-3. Comments are closed.
