There was a reduced programme in the Samba Nottinghamshire Senior League, supported by Euro Soccer Company, thanks to the weather but two games managed to be played on Friday night, both resulting in narrow home victories.
Eastwood CFC Development doubled their wins and points for the season, lifting themselves off the foot of the table in the process, as they inflicted only the second defeat on reigning champions Stapleford Town 3-2. Jordan Leeming, Zeb Kasujja and Gafaar Karim did the damage for Eastwood; Harry Crosby-Oldershaw and Sam Harbottle’s efforts for Stapleford proved insufficient. A Conor Carter brace helped Woodthorpe Park Rangers on their way to a 5-4 win over Bilborough Town. Toby King, Darren Oldham and Connor Scott-Parkin were also on target. Buba Ceesay (2), Ezekiel Benjamin and Harry Dearden replied for Town. On Saturday, Bingham Town opened up a three point gap at the top of the table with a 5-1 win at FC Cavaliers. Bingham’s goals were shared between Euan Sweeting with a hat-trick and Tom Spencer with a brace. Siraj Chitulu got Cavs’ consolation. Awsworth Villa drew 2-2 for the third time on the trot in the league, this time away at Calverton Miners Welfare. Sam Buckle and Dalton Stephens netted for Calvo, Kylion Ricketts and Courtney Samuels for Villa. In the Nottinghamshire FA Senior Trophy there was an all-NSL tie with Robin Hood Colts prevailing 4-3 against Gedling Southbank. Nick Westerman bagged a brace for the Colts alongside Jamie Harmieson and George Camps efforts. Joshua Cranny, Daniel Hogg and Thomas Jeffries scored for GSB. In the solitary Division One game, Radcliffe Olympic’s winning run under their new management came to an end as Beeston edged their match 5-4. Benjamin Knight scored twice for Beeston and Jason Jude, Roland Tomlinson and Jack Wilkinson once each. Chris Marshall (2), Brett Soiza and Harry Chiarella replied for Radcliffe. Comments are closed.
