In the Samba Nottinghamshire Senior League, supported by Euro Soccer Company, there was a rematch of last season’s Senior Cup final in the Premier Division as Southwell City hosted Stapleford Town. Both teams had goals disallowed as it ended in stalemate but the point was sufficient to see Stapleford stay top of the fledgling table.
Both the newly promoted sides made it two wins from two. Nathan Francis scored his second hat-trick in as many weeks in Burton Joyce’s 7-1 victory over Eastwood CFC Development. Mark Faflik (2), Sam Smith and Jack Caulton were also on target. Markell Bailey, Daniel Walker and Toby King gave Woodthorpe Park Rangers a 3-1 win at Aslockton & Orston. Samuel Winch netted for the home side. Wollaton have also taken six points from their first two games as they came away from Bilborough Town with a 7-0 win. There were two goals apiece from Will Bouwen and Stephen Chaplin and one from each of Scott Carlile, Steve Ahern and Greg Wedge. Bingham Town got off the mark with a 2-2 draw at AFC Dunkirk. Luis Parkes and Kieran Diver scored for Dunkirk, Euan Sweeting and an own goal for Bingham. Dalton Stephens and Adam Limb got Calverton Miners Welfare’s season up and running in a 2-1 win over Attenborough. Jamie Hannis was on target for Boro. Radford Reserves are top of Division One following their 3-2 win at Bestwood Miners Welfare. Newly promoted AFC Top Valley are hot on their heels after an 8-2 victory over Basford United Community. Kimberley Miners Welfare Reserves made it two wins from two as they edged past Beeston 2-1 and Bridgford United won by a similar scoreline against Wollaton Reserves. Radcliffe Olympic kicked off their season with a 5-1 home reverse at the hands of Kirton Brickworks that included a hat-trick for Jamie Charlton. In Division Two, Lucus Cotterill bagged a brace for Cotgrave Reserves in their 3-0 win over Beeston Old Boys Association. Stapleford Town Reserves join Cotgrave on six points at the top following a 3-1 win at Asha. There were two goals apiece for Callum Barrett and Jack Palmer in Keyworth United Reserves’ 6-0 win at Elston United. United Grays started their NSL campaign by seeing off Clifton All Whites Development 3-2 and Ravenshead Reds drew 1-1 with Bingham Town Reserves. Comments are closed.
