In the Precision Nottinghamshire Senior League Premier Division, leaders Clifton All Whites have extended the gap at the top of the table to 11 points following their 4-0 win over Real United. Niall O’Rafferty scored within the first five minutes but it was a very even affair for the remainder of the half, including Real United getting the ball in the net just before the break but it was ruled out for offside. The league leaders started the second half like they had the first, this time it was Corbi Brown who got the goal. The win was cemented by a Ben Clark double in the last 15 minutes.
Awsworth Villa are up to second, still with four games in hand over Clifton, after they won 4-0 at Newark Flowserve. Villa’s top scorer, Ryan Whitehurst, bagged a brace alongside efforts from Liam Smith and Matthew Murphy. Also winning 4-0 were AFC Dunkirk, against Bilborough Town. Sam Harbottle got the first two goals with George Harrison adding the third before half time. Joe Ellis put the icing on the cake in the 87th minute. The win lifts Dunkirk up to fourth, Bilborough slip to third. FC Cavaliers came from behind to defeat Wollaton 2-1. Jake Fisher added one more to his tally for Wollaton as he continues his pursuit of the league’s record number of goals for a season. He needs five more to beat the record of 51 set by Alex Ford in 2013/14. Zibusiso Sabanda and Aboybacar Sylla ensured Cavs took the points however. Basford United Community overcame Ruddington Village 4-1 with goals from Richemone Sylla, Jamie Walker, Zaire Jackson-Birchall and Tyrell Shannon-Lewis. Cotgrave took the bragging rights in the derby with Bingham Town as they ran out 6-0 winners. Shane Brumpton and Lee Potts both netted twice, as well as Adam Gray and substitute Lewis Hopkinson. Aston United edged past Magdala Amateurs 1-0 thanks to Shay Wiggins. Nottingham Trent University saw off Attenborough 5-1. Robert Fowlfe (2), Jonathan Coates, Oisin O’Malley and Rackeem Reid were all on target for NTU, Joe Nice got Boro’s consolation. In Division One, midweek results meant Calverton Miners Welfare were confirmed as champions and they celebrated in style with a 5-0 win over Birchover Park. Sam Buckle grabbed a hat-trick with David Corder and James Davis also notching. Kimberley Miners Welfare Reserves kept hold of second place with a 2-1 win at Awsworth Villa Reserves. Josh Lewis and Tom Slade were the Kimberley scorers, Luke Grinham replied for Villa. Ashland Rovers kept pace in third with a 5-1 victory over AFC Clifton. Paul Revuelta and Alex England both struck twice, Mark Summers added the fifth. Perry Foster got Clifton’s consolation. Martin McDonagh scored five as Netherfield Albion defeated Bilborough United 6-4. In Division Two, Team DNF sealed the title with an 8-1 win over third placed Selston Reserves, including four goals from second half substitute Sheldon Tuitt.
