In the Samba Nottinghamshire Senior League, supported by Euro Soccer Company, Burton Joyce held onto top spot in the Premier Division, despite losing their 100% record, as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Aslockton & Orston. Chris Aldred gave Aslockton a half time lead but Ricky Gardner struck in the second period to ensure the spoils were shared.
That means the sole remaining perfect record in the top flight belongs to Woodthorpe Park Rangers as a 4-2 scoreline against Magdala Amateurs gave them their fifth win of the season. Ellis Carter actually put Magdala ahead early in the encounter but Connor Scott-Parkin levelled matters before the break. The Budgies’ task got decidedly more difficult just after the restart though as Adam Kelvey was sent off. The introduction of Markell Bailey for Woodthorpe made all the difference, however, as he set up both Conor Carter and Jason Rimmel then, after Ben Johnson had pulled one back, added the fourth himself. AFC Dunkirk came from two down away at Stapleford Town on Friday night to draw 2-2 and preserve their unbeaten start. Luke Guadagni and Adam Hassell gave the Saxons the advantage but they were pegged back by McKenna Paton, who was later sent off, and Luis Parkes. Southwell City handed Wollaton their first defeat of the season, 3-0, with goals from Bradley Peace-McDonald and Oliver Clarke (2). A bad day for Wollaton was made worse by an injury to Roberto Labbate. Bingham Town left Awsworth Villa still pointless after they won 4-2. Town’s goals were shared between Jake Hardy, Will Haycox, Tom Spencer and Euan Sweeting with Joshua Broad and Liam Towle replying for Villa. Getting off the mark, however, were Bilborough Town, who came away from Eastwood CFC Development with a 3-2 win. James Bacon, Danny Fyffe and substitute Harry Deardan netted for Bilborough; Jaquarn Campbell-Ghislanzoni with a brace for the Red Badgers. Keyworth United picked up their first win of the campaign as they saw off Cotgrave 3-1. Jake Fisher bagged a brace alongside a Daniel Chadwick effort for United; Lee Potts replied for Cotgrave, who had Kyle Waddell sent off. A solitary goal from Paul Ireson was enough to see Attenborough past FC Cavliers 1-0 while there was a 4-4 draw between Calverton Miners Welfare and Sandiacre Town with eight different scorers: Brinsley Kirkham, Barry Payne, George Scrivener and Dalton Stephens for Calvo, George Vear, Jordan Leonardi, Daniel Harries and Zachary Beer for Town. AFC Top Valley made it five wins from five to claim back first place in Division One, the latest a 3-2 victory over Radford Reserves with two goals from Ben Cummings, who ended the day in hospital receiving stitches to a head wound, and one from Joe Gunn. Tituntamba Harrung and Chris Newman replied for Radford. Ruddington Village continued their ascent of the table with a 3-1 win at Beeston, including a brace for Joseph Brown while Wollaton Reserves saw off Hucknall Town Development 2-1. Ollie McCourt was on target twice for Southwell City Reserves I their 3-2 win at Basford United Community and Kirton Brickworks edged out Ravenshead 2-1. Kyle Pemberton got both of Bridgford United’s goals but unfortunately it was in a losing cause as they went down 5-2 at Gedling Southbank. In Division Two, Stapleford Town Reserves maintained their 100% record with a 3-2 win at Bingham Town Reserves that included a brace for Junior Rodriguez. Ahead of them on goal difference having played a game more, however, are Cotgrave Reserves who won 4-2 at Barrowby. Jack Palmer netted twice for Keyworth United Reserves in their 6-1 win over Beeston Old Boys Association while Josh Wilson grabbed a hat-trick for United Grays in their 7-0 demolition of Ravenshead Reds. Ruddington Village Reserves beat AFC Dunkirk Reserves 3-2 while Bilborough Town Community and Burton Joyce Reserves both picked up their first point of the season in a 4-4 draw. Asha and Pythian drew 3-3 on Friday evening. Comments are closed.
