Action in the Premier Division of the Nottinghamshire Senior League gets underway on Friday night with Sandiacre Town hosting their local rivals Stapleford Town at St Giles. Sandiacre staged a stunning late comeback a week ago to beat Radcliffe Olympic 3-2; Stapleford are looking to continue their upward momentum having only lost once all season.
There’s a local derby under lights in Division One too as Mansfield Hosiery Mills welcome Ravenshead to The Fieldings. The visitors have Joe Maguire, Mark Yates and Martin McDonagh all back after missing last weekend’s cup exploits but Liam Walton is still injured. Mansfield have a new manager, Paul McFarland, after Dom Witton opted to take to the pitch once again as player/assistant. On Saturday in the Premier Division, Calverton Miners Welfare will attempt to arrest a run of four straight defeats, all by a single goal, as Radcliffe Olympic visit Hollinwood Lane. Scott Miles, Jason Hodson, Harry Simpson and Adam Limb are added to the Calvo squad but Matthew Hill and Matthew Newton will be missing. Awsworth Villa will try and close the gap to leaders Southwell City as they head to Roko to play Magdala Amateurs while Cotgrave will have designs on Villa’s second place as Bilborough Town visit Woodview. Attenborough entertain Wollaton at The Strand with the visitors hoping their recent new additions continue to have a positive impact on the side. Having scored eight goals in each of their last two outings, Southwell City are in Notts FA Senior Cup action away at Welbeck Lions. In the second round of the NSL Senior Cup, Aslockton & Orston meet in an all-Premier Division tie, Ruddington Village will look to cause an upset as they host FC Cavaliers at Elms Park and in a Division One battle AFC Bridgford welcome Beeston to Gresham. In league action in Division One, leaders Bridgford United entertain Southwell City Reserves at Highfields. Second placed Woodthorpe Park Rangers have had a break from league matches due to various cup competitions but they’re back on Saturday, looking to maintain their 100% record as they travel to Greenwich Avenue to take on Basford United Community. In Division Two, Ravenshead Reserves entertain Gedling Southbank Reserves with Tyler Lambert facing a fitness test but Jamie Vaughan should return whilst Dan Hurst is suspended. Comments are closed.
