Action in the Samba Nottinghamshire Senior League, supported by Euro Soccer Company, gets underway on Friday night as Premier Division leaders Stapleford Town meet Sandiacre Town at St Giles. It took extra time for Stapleford to overcome Division One Ravenshead in the Senior Cup last weekend and the Reds are also playing under the Friday night lights as they welcome Mansfield Hosiery Mills to Cornwater. Ravenshead should welcome back Dan Phillips and Martin McDonagh to the squad, while Alex Faulconbridge is still suspended and Adam Lewis remains injured. 16 year old Jamie Vaughan impressed last weekend and looks likely to retain his place.
On Saturday in the Premier Division it could be all change from second through to fourth. The positions are currently occupied, in order, by Southwell City on 51 points, Cotgrave on 51 and Awsworth Villa on 50. City and Villa go head-to-head at The Shilo while Cotgrave entertain FC Cavaliers at Woodview. Bingham Town’s 16 game unbeaten run came to an end in midweek at the hands of Keyworth United. They will look to get back to winning ways as they welcome bottom club Gedling Southbank to Butt Field. Aslockton & Orston advanced in the cup last weekend by beating Wollaton on penalties. They travel to the Ron Steel Sports Ground where AFC Dunkirk had a convincing win over Calverton Miners Welfare last time out. Calvo add Jay Hodson to the squad from that defeat as they travel to Wharf Lane to take on Radcliffe Olympic, who were leading 3-0 against Eastwood CFC Development in midweek only to be pegged back to 3-3. Nevertheless it was Radcliffe’s first point since early November. Eastwood follow up that comeback performance with a trip to The Strand to face Attenborough while Wollaton host Magdala Amateurs at the WSA. In Division One, leaders Woodthorpe Park Rangers will be looking to bounce back from their first defeat of the season last time out as they head to the Westwood Recreation Ground to face Selston Reserves. It was Southwell City Reserves that ended Woodthorpe’s unbeaten run, they welcome Awsworth Villa Reserves to the War Memorial Ground. In Division Two, AFC Top Valley and Ruddington Village Reserves are locked together on 53 points at the top of the table. They host AFC Clifton at Hollinwood Lane and Keyworth United Development at Elms Park respectively. Comments are closed.
