Cotgrave and Gedling Southbank kick off the weekend’s action in the Nottinghamshire Senior League Premier Division when they meet at Woodview on Friday night. Gedling have picked up just the one point so far this season whereas Cotgrave are looking to break into the top four.
On Saturday, Awsworth Villa will attempt to regain top spot as they head to Greenwich Avenue to face Stapleford Town. It won’t be an easy task, however, as Stapleford have won all three of their matches so far. Another team with a 100% record, but from five matches, are Southwell City. They visit the Harvey Hadden Stadium to play a Bilborough Town side that are missing a number of first teamers although they have signed Cardell Labban from Radford as cover. After losing to Wollaton in midweek, AFC Dunkirk will try to make amends as they head to Butt Field to take on Bingham Town. The hosts will want to arrest their two game losing run. Wollaton go in pursuit of their third win on the trot as they travel to Spa Lane to play Aslockton & Orston. Keyworth United welcome Magdala Amateurs to Platt Lane and Attenborough host Radcliffe Olympic at The Strand. In Division One, Basford United Community are leaders on goals scored. Their 100% record will be put to the test by AFC Bridgford as they visit Greenwich Avenue. Bridgford United will look to capitalise on any slip up by Basford as they travel to Station Road to play Kirton Brickworks. The hosts could leapfrog Bridgford with a positive result. Sandwiched between those two are Burton Joyce, who head to Leyton Crescent to face Beeston. The NSL Junior Cup gets underway on Friday night with Division Two’s Ravenshead Reserves hosting Awsworth Villa Reserves from Division One at Cornwater. Two Division Two high-flyers, Stapleford Town Reserves and Newark Flowserve Reserves also commence cup action on Saturday. Stapleford face Clifton All Whites Development, from the same division, at Hickings Lane, while Newark will test themselves against higher division opposition, in the form of Kimberley Miners Welfare Reserves, at Hawton Lane.
