The Nottinghamshire Senior League has engaged in a joint venture with Durham FA that will see some of their officials take charge of NSL Premier Division matches this weekend in order to broaden their understanding of the different styles and passion of football. The matches in question are: Bilborough Town versus Cotgrave at Greenwich Avenue where Town will again have to chop and change with Chris Helthorp, Tommy Street and Ricky Cross definitely unavailable, so they may have to draft in youngsters again as they push for safety from the drop; Attenborough versus FC Cavaliers at Chilwell Olympia, as Boro warm up for their Notts FA Intermediate Cup final the following Tuesday; and Ruddington Village entertaining Sandiacre Town at Elms Park.
Champions Newark Flowserve go in search of win 28 out of 29 as AFC Dunkirk visit Hawton Lane. Having not won in their last three outings, Awsworth Villa have slipped to third place, behind FC Cavaliers. They will try to get back on track as they travel to Roko to play Magdala Amateurs. Bingham Town, Attenborough’s Notts FA Intermediate Cup final opponents, travel to the Stag Ground to face Kimberley Miners Welfare AFC who completed the double over Awsworth last time out. Southwell City, unbeaten in six, welcome Basford United Community, looking for their first win in five, to the War Memorial Ground. Underwood Villa host Calverton Miners Welfare at Bracken Park. In Division One, second placed Stapleford Town will attempt to make inroads into Keyworth United Reserves’ five point lead as they play one of their four games in hand away at Kingsway Park against Ashland Rovers. Wollaton Reserves narrowly lost to Stapleford in midweek, they ill try to bounce back at the WSA against Southwell City Reserves. Also looking to bounce back are Bridgford United in Division Two, who suffered the heartache of a semi-final defeat to Burton Joyce in the NSL Junior Cup.
