All female match official team for first time ever...On Friday 8 September Nottinghamshire Senior League history will be made when, for the first time ever, all three match officials for a game will be female. Stacey Hall will be the referee, joined by assistants Leanne Woodhead and Grace Lowe, for Keyworth United Reserves versus Stapleford Town in Division One.
Being a football referee can often be a solitary pursuit, even more so for women officiating in the men's game, so the three female colleagues are looking forward to this fixture to enjoy the camaraderie and shared experience. Ian Kirk, league chairman commented "This is another milestone reached by the Nottinghamshire Senior League with an all ladies refereeing team. As a league we are committed to the development of football in the local area and this is another fantastic example. I look forward to seeing all-female officiating teams on games on a regular basis in the future and am proud of the league in taking the lead on this." The match kicks off at 7.30pm at Platt Lane, Keyworth, free entry. Comments are closed.
